Capilia hMPV, 10 Tests
- Sample Collection
Obtain a nasopharyngeal swab, aspirate, or wash sample using sterile procedures to ensure accuracy.
If testing cannot be performed immediately, handle and store the sample properly to maintain integrity.
- Preparation of the Extraction Buffer
for the specified amount of extraction buffer into the provided tube to prepare for sample processing.
- 2. Sample Preparation:
For swab samples: Insert the swab into the extraction buffer tube and mix it thoroughly.
For liquid samples (aspirate or wash): Directly add the recommended volume of the sample to the buffer tube.
- Mixing and Extraction
Press the swab against the inner wall of the tube to ensure complete release of the sample into the buffer.
Remove and discard the swab, ensuring the solution remains in the tube.
- Sample Dispensing
Use the provided dropper or pipette to draw the processed sample solution.
Apply 3–4 drops of the solution into the sample well of the test device.
- Incubation and Waiting
Start a timer and allow the test to develop for the specified time (typically 10–20 minutes).
Do not interpret results after the maximum time limit to avoid inaccuracies.
- 4. Result Interpretation:
Positive Result: Two distinct colored lines appear—one in the control (C) region and another in the test (T) region.
Negative Result: A single colored line appears in the control (C) region only.
Invalid Result: No line appears in the control (C) region, regardless of the test (T) line. Retest with a new device.
